Mount Titlis was beyond beautiful. Transfer to Engelberg was comfortable and important sights were explained. However, 2.5 hours at Mt Titlis didnt seem enough as there were queues for most of the activities. Tour guide created a fake sense of delay and pressure, and we began the journey, back to Lucerne almost 40 minutes post the specified time. Overall a good experiece but Grayline should be more transparent about timings and offer more time at the main attraction, Mt Titlis

This is a great trip to go on if this is your first time in Switzerland or you're not sure how to plan your own trip up Mount Titlis. It's very well organized and the tour guide was very helpful through the whole trip. You get around 2.5 hours at the top of the mountain to explore all of the points of interest, which was enough time for us to see everything and get some ice cream.

Considering train travel is not common for us in the US, everything was well marked, and the ability to flash our QR code was VERY convenient! Not sure if we will travel enough throughout Switzerland to have the math work, but the conscience is overwhelming! Eager to hit some museums on the pass as well.

Absolutely loved the views at the top, gondola, restaurant, ice palace - everything was amazing, except the clarity of the information. Our return descent booked for 2 hours later it says, we had no clue when this 2 hours started from. Reservations end at a certain time apparently (couldn't find this information online anywhere either). Time slots? Reservation information? We were so confused so we just went straight up without taking our time, and when we got up, it was packed and then we did take our time. We stayed longer than 2 hours and thankfully the queues and the whole journey down wasn't too delayed when we didn't have a reservation.

Visiting Jungfraujoch was an unforgettable experience — truly worthy of its title as the “Top of Europe.” The journey itself, via the cogwheel train through the stunning Swiss Alps, was magical. Once at the summit, the panoramic views of snow-covered peaks, the vast Aletsch Glacier, and the crisp alpine air created a surreal atmosphere. Everything was well-organized, from the attractions like the Ice Palace and Sphinx Observatory to the walking paths with breathtaking vistas. It’s a must-visit destination that blends natural beauty, engineering marvel, and peaceful grandeur all in one place.

The experience was great. We took the trains all the way up and caught the gondolas on the way back. We almost skipped the Discovery Tour, but decided to go in right before we left. We didn't understand that this would be the best part of the experience. It has the best views. I would warn that when you book thru Hradout app you don't get a reserved seat on the train, so you will have to wait in line at certain times during the journey.

The experience was great, although very crowded and touristy. The gondola was broken, so paid for that feature, but did not get in either direction. It was disappointing. The train was filled with large tour groups, so standing room only on the train going down. That being said, I still would recommend.

The tickets were easy to buy and the excursion went very well. It would be important to note in your descriptions that it is possible to take the train even without a reservation. At the departure of the train there are 2 queues, 1 for tickets with seat reservations (which cost more) and one without. Despite this difference, it's perfectly possible to sit on a seat with a Headout reservation.

It was simply amazing - as the Swiss would say - perfect weather, much less crowds than I had feared despite the ultra high season, the whole thing was an overwhelming experience in the high alpine mountains, at the beginning of the great Aletsch Glacier, which will stay in my memory forever!

Booking was easy. The app worked if there was network, but without network the app crashed (iPhone). You go to train or scan the code at the gate.

The trip was fun. Perhaps indicate more clearly that you have to get off at Grindelwald Terminal, i.e. not stay on until the last stop. However, I did not know how to get a time for the time slot. Also, the app did not work after we got off the gondola, so I could not show the scan code.

Amazing place to visit. Was able to use Swiss half fare being a visitor which made it more affordable and some parts of the building were overcrowded with tourists but you can get to places which especially outside which aren't as busy. Best to book a return journey as I had to wait quite sometime to get back on a train with no reservation.

The experience was great, although very crowded and touristy. The gondola was broken, so paid for that feature, but did not get in either direction. It was disappointing. The train was filled with large tour groups, so standing room only on the train going down. That being said, I still would recommend.

The Jungfraujoch was epic! My only issue was the issue to try to get a Eurail discount associated with this purchase as I was told I was eligible for that. Is there a way I can submit my Eurail ticket card (pass reference 4BSDV3) and apply for a discount or partial refund? Thank you for your consideration! Take care, Kuangkai Tai, San Diego

Loved loved looooovvveeeeed everything about this experience! Getting a ticket was eazy. Keep in mind it takes a lot of time to travel in switserland. I had a hotel on Chur and it took me more than two hours of driving with my car to get to grindelwald. Just a little advice for somebody who makes a reservation at the very last moment ;) you also get a lot of information so it's best to use the app and take some screenshots. Yes it is pricey but the view from "on top of europe" was priceless. (Haha ;)) to be honest I think I could enjoy this experience a bit more if it wasn't so much crowded. Some people call it a tourist trap... I'd rather call it a lazy way to get on top ;) the views were spectacular and surely worth my money

It would have been great. If you had known that there was no time commitment. The information was completely missing. The Eigerbahn and Jungfrauenjochbahn ran every half hour so you didn't have to be there on time at 12:45. That makes a big difference if you have a journey of almost 3 hours.

Mount Titlis | Scale Switzerland’s iconic peak

Perched over 3,000 meters high in the Uri Alps of Switzerland, Mount Titlis stands as a beacon for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped Alps, ascend the skies in the world's first revolving cable car, and participate in a myriad of outdoor activities, such as hiking and crossing Europe's highest suspension bridge, the Cliff Walk. Blanketed in snow year-round snow, Mount Titlis serves as a haven for winter sports. The glacier cave and Ice Flyer chairlift provide an up-close encounter with its icy landscape.

Beyond winter thrills, Mount Titlis, with its rich blend of natural beauty, and cultural depth, offers the quintessential Swiss Alpine experience, drawing tourists from around the world to its snowy peaks and verdant valleys.

Things to know before booking your Mount Titlis tickets

  • Perfect day trip destination: Engelberg acts as your gateway town to Mount Titlis, no matter where your adventure begins. With Zurich and Lucerne less than two hours away, seizing the opportunity for an accessible day trip couldn't be more inviting.
  • Access to activities: All tickets include access to the cable car, free activities like hiking, and free attractions like the Glacier Cave and Cliff Walk. But if you'd like to experience the Ice Flyer chairlift or other adventure activities, ensure your ticket includes these options.
  • Seasonal activities: Seasonal activities like skiing, snowboarding, and the Snow Park at Mount Titlis come at an additional cost. Check that your ticket covers these activities if you're looking to participate.
  • Skiing restrictions for kids: Just a heads-up, families with children under 10 might want to consider their options carefully when purchasing adventure tickets for Mount Titlis. Skiing isn't permitted for young children, so consider alternative activities that the whole family can enjoy.
  • Cable car tickets and routes: No matter where your tour begins, it will lead you to Engelberg Valley Station. From there, you can catch a cable car to Stand Station, then hop on the Rotair for a quick 5-minute ride to the stunning Titlis summit. Cable car tickets can be conveniently purchased at the station or online.
  • Exploring Trübsee: Trübsee, a midway stop between the summit and the base of Titlis, offers many outdoor activities like ziplining or exploring the Adventure Park, which requires separate bookings.
  • Guided tours vs self-guided: Opt for a guided tour to learn about Mount Titlis, ensure that you don't miss out on the main highlights, and maybe even explore the surrounding region. But if you're feeling adventurous and prefer exploring at your speed, don't be afraid to go to Mount Titlis without a guide!
  • The Swiss Travel pass is a game-changer: We particularly recommend the Swiss Flex Pass as it can significantly reduce the cost of your Mount Titlis visit, offering a 50% discount. Although you'll need to purchase the pass and ticket individually, this setup is super beneficial for those planning an extended stay in Switzerland.

Accessibility at Mount Titlis
  • Visiting Titlis in a wheelchair is possible without prior registration. Lifts are available at all stations for accessibility, making sure there is convenient access for everyone.
  • A cable car runs directly from the parking lot to the mountain's summit, with stops at every level. Each level features amenities such as restaurants and leisure areas, easily accessible for all.
  • At the mountain's peak, there's a spacious terrace suitable for wheelchairs.
  • Beyond this point, navigating through snow might necessitate assistance, although there are established trails, and staff members are exceptionally accommodating and willing to help with any needs.
Mount Titlis Tips
  • Most people prefer the 10-minute walk along the Alpine trail instead of the free shuttle for the beautiful scenery and acclimatization. Along the way, you'll find photo spots with waterfalls, grazing cows, and the sound of Swiss cowbells.
  • Be sure to keep your ticket safe as you'll need to scan it multiple times during the journey up and down.
  • Take advantage of skiing equipment rentals offered at Mount Titlis to ease the burden of carrying gear.
  • If your warm clothes prove to be insufficient for you at the Engelberg base station, you can rent woolen garments such as coats, caps, and hand gloves.
  • Walking inside the Glacier Cave can be slippery, so be sure to use the railings for support while walking.
  • Eating at the summit can be pricey, as meals typically range from €10 to €50. If you are willing to splurge, don't miss out on the Lindt truffles and Indian samosas at the entrance of Titlis. However, you can also pack your lunch and enjoy a picnic at Panorama Lounge.

  • Consumption of food and drinks is prohibited inside cable cars or gondolas.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly to maintain cleanliness.
  • Climbing or straying from designated trails is strictly forbidden.
