The freedom to choose paths and times. Kleine Scheidegg very beautiful. The Jungfraujoch, on the other hand, was a check-in facility, as we didn't actually want to buy watches, but wanted to learn something about the railroad and the area. Who made the statue of the railwayman there?

Stress free! No waiting to buy at the ticket kiosk everytime you want to ride within the region. 99% of the gandolas and cable cars included except the the funicular in Murren. But very happy I purchased it.

On the 2nd day, the Headout app displayed "no connection" and the ticket could no longer be retrieved, even though it was explicitly advertised that the app could also be used to retrieve tickets offline!☹️ Fortunately, I had taken a screenshot of the barcode, which was also recognized by the ticket readers. Nasty glitch!

The opportunity to see up to 34 4000-metre peaks and 14 glaciers as well as the magnificent, varied views on the Selbahn ride at a reasonable price. Plus the glacier grotto, which really impressed us. The term "glacier paradise" is no exaggeration. It's worth noting that the train route has several intermediate stations, which offers plenty of opportunities for getting on and off the train. For example, getting off at Torckenen Steg on the return journey and getting on again at Furi, after the descent had, contrary to expectations, taken its toll on our bones. Also worth mentioning during our two-night stay: The friendliness and courtesy of the locals! We are happy to recommend Zermatt in every respect.

It was an excellent journey.. I was fascinated to learn about green energy that is used in a way that three trains going down generate enough energy for two trains to go up. The scenery was out of this world. Matterhorn stands so uniquely distinguished and beautiful from the rest but the rest of the mountain lines were also very beautiful. Also what I didn't know and luckily I did it that zoom matterhorn experience is actually included in the train ticket. Zoom matterhorn experience was fabulous too. It was a once in a life time grandeur experience that me and my Mrs had. Thankyou.

"Spectacular mountain trips". I felt blessed, being surrounded by the grandiosity, peace and beauty of the scenery on these two trips in the Alpes. I suggest do to do the Gornergrat one day, and the Glacier Paradise on another. Dedicate time to contemplate the magnificence of nature, while having a coffee or a meal.

Enjoy a round trip on the cogwheel train from Zermatt to Gornergrat with stunning Alpine views.

  • All aboard the cogwheel train from Zermatt to Gornergrat for one of the most dramatic landscapes of the Swiss Alps!
  • With priority access, you'll get to board the train first and get the best seats on the right side toward the Matterhorn!
  • The 30-minute ride will take you from an altitude of 1,605 m to 3,089 m, up to the Gornergrat ridge.
  • Upon reaching the Gornergrat, take in exceptional views of 29 four-thousand-meter peaks, including the jagged-toothed mountain, Matterhorn in all its glory.
  • See the famous Monte Rosa massif, with Switzerland’s highest peak (Dufourspitze, 4,634 m).
